New technology and more space for dialogue
Most of the audiovisual infrastructure in the Kollegienhaus at the University of Basel was more than 15 years old, and from a didactic point of view the rooms, which were designed for frontal teaching, were no longer up to date.
In accordance with this initial situation, the entire audio and video technology was renewed in three phases and spatial adjustments were made. To meet the needs of more dynamic teaching, lecture recordings and video transmissions were to be made possible in selected rooms. New microphones and beam steering loudspeakers provide better acoustics. In combination with the latest presentation equipment, these rooms are now ready for the future.
As part of this technical refurbishment, auviso was allowed to carry out the installation of the entire AV technology, which included the following activities:
Rack construction and installation of AV technology in nine lecture halls: laser projectors, beam steering loudspeakers, event lighting, cross-lecture hall audio and video transmission, conferencing systems.
We were able to equip the auditorium with the latest point source loudspeakers from Meyer Sound, video mixers, Shure Axient system, Shure interpreter system and video conference system.
In harmony with the improved acoustic architecture, the newly created spatial sculpture welcomes and embraces actors and audiences, gives individuals a foothold in the space and at the same time conveys the reference to the impressive size of the auditorium as a communal space.
