We installed outdoor LED and LCD displays as dynamic and digital piste display boards at nine strategic locations throughout the Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis ski arena. These inform customers via a user-friendly guest guidance system with a live panoramic map, meteorological data, information on the status of the slopes and lifts as well as current warning messages in the ski area.
All required constructions were developed specifically and individually for the particular location. For larger display areas, we use innovative LED displays with a modular design that allows flexible mounting on walls or pillars. The LED displays are designed to withstand the extreme weather conditions in the ski resort - without additional heating, cooling or glass covers. One particular challenge of the project was the logistics on the mountain. Heavy-duty helicopters and crane trucks as well as snow transport vehicles were used for transportation.
The LED display on the Oberalppass can be rotated by 60 degrees and can therefore be used flexibly for both winter and summer operation. A total of around 15,000 kg of metal structures and almost 80 m2 of LED display surface were installed.
