Thrills on the big screen – also at the Bobsleigh World Championships in St. Moritz
The Olympic bobsleigh run from St. Moritz to Celerina, which went into operation in 1904, is not only the oldest one still in use, but also the last one made of natural ice. The technology along the track has been new since December 2022: State-of-the-art camera technology at the edge of the course will cover LED walls and allow spectators to follow every metre of the run live.
At the start, at the well-known «Horse Shoe» section and at the finish, three large outdoor LED walls up to five metres wide were already permanently installed in December 2022. The LED walls from the manufacturer Daktronics are optimally suited for the weather conditions in St. Moritz. 30 cameras, also permanently installed, will be responsible for broadcasting the races. The new installation also allows content such as race times to be shown during live broadcasts. auviso was responsible for the planning and implementation of the installation.
At the BMW IBSF Bobsleigh & Skeleton World Championships and the IBSF Para Sport World Championships from 22 January until 5 February 2023, auviso was also the official technical partner and responsible for the planning and implementation of the event technology at this major event: concept development, planning and implementation of the opening ceremony with Baba Shrimps and a surprise show by THE BLACKOUTS were just as much a part of this as the technical support for the medal ceremonies.
