Major project in the snow: auviso at the Freestyle World Championships in St. Moritz

The 2025 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships took place in the Engadin from March 17 to 30. The world's best athletes competed in the disciplines of freestyle skiing, snowboarding and freeskiing - at three iconic locations: Corviglia, Corvatsch and the Olympic ski jump in St. Moritz.

As the official technical partner, auviso was able to support this major sporting event with its comprehensive expertise. The project was particularly extensive and complex - with a 360° scope of services: from event management and detailed planning to technical implementation on site.
auviso was already able to organize the kick-off - with an official kick-off event at the company's own event location SPINNEREI in Emmenbrücke. In collaboration with the overall organization, auviso was responsible for the event management and ensured a harmonious setting for partners, sponsors and project participants.
Intensive detailed planning began in the fall of 2024. Our project team took on the coordination of the numerous parties involved and created important interfaces - for example, for issues such as transport logistics to the Engadin, material distribution to the competition venues and power supply under challenging conditions. We attached great importance to efficient resource planning and, where possible, synergies in order to make transportation and material flows as sustainable as possible.
Implementation began at the start of March 2025: the extensive terrain in the Engadin was technically developed in several stages - under challenging conditions with snow, wind and fluctuating temperatures. Our teams set up the start areas, installed powerful sound systems and provided impressive LED staging at all three competition venues.
More than 80 tons of material were moved, precisely coordinated and distributed with pinpoint accuracy - a logistical undertaking that required careful planning and well-rehearsed processes. Several dozen technicians were in action every day. Over 4,500 hours worked show how much commitment, expertise and teamwork went into every detail.
The Big Air on Corvatsch was a particular highlight: 120 powerful floodlights were installed to illuminate the ski jump in a manner suitable for international TV. The light masts in the finish area were pre-assembled in the valley and flown to the ski jump by helicopter. Colorful staging before the competitions, bright illumination during the runs - everything perfectly matched to the sports experience on site and in front of screens worldwide.
In addition to the technical infrastructure, auviso was also responsible for all content outside of the sporting events: from stadium TV and camera work to content production for the LED walls. We were also responsible for the direction and content control.
We also managed various side events with individual technical implementation - tailored to the location, target group and format. The stage on the site measured 18 by 10 meters and was equipped with a powerful KSL sound system from D&B. 180 hours of planning, numerous acts performing, extreme weather conditions with snowfall, wind speeds of up to 75 km/h and temperatures between -8 and +10 degrees - all this made the project a real test of strength.
For auviso, this project was not only technically challenging, but also an impressive example of how our 360° model can be successfully applied to international events. We would like to thank everyone involved for their trust, support and joint efforts.
