In a world where hybrid learning formats are becoming increasingly important, educational institutions need to continuously develop their technical infrastructures. The WBZ Holzweid has taken this step and modernised its media technology in collaboration with auviso.
The Holzweid further education centre is located in the heart of the leafy Rotmonten district, just a few minutes' walk from the University of St.Gallen and the city centre.
The Holzweid further education centre is one of the leading institutions in the region and offers high-quality seminars and further education courses in various disciplines.
However, with the growing demand for hybrid learning formats, it became clear that the existing technology needed to be modernised in order to meet the requirements of a contemporary learning environment.
auviso was commissioned with the technical planning and programming of this modernisation. Our aim was to develop a standardised and user-friendly solution that supports face-to-face and hybrid teaching in equal measure. To this end, we planned standardised seminar and group rooms, which were equipped with projectors, displays, cameras and ceiling and hand-held microphones, among other things.
The realisation of hybrid systems that enable seamless integration of remote participants via Zoom was particularly important. A key feature of the new system is the identical operation in all rooms - regardless of whether they are used for hybrid teaching or not. The system can also be started in different scenes, whereby lighting and shading can be adjusted automatically.
Thanks to this modernisation, the WBZ Holzweid now offers a state-of-the-art, flexible and easy-to-use infrastructure that meets the high demands of today's knowledge transfer.
