Technique and excitement combined: pole vault highlight at Weltklasse Zürich

Weltklasse Zürich turned the concourse of Zurich's main railroad station into a spectacular stage for top international sport. The pole vault event brought athletics up close to the city center and thrilled sports fans and passers-by alike.

On September 4, auviso was the proud technical partner of Weltklasse Zürich and was able to technically implement the unique pole vault competition in the concourse of Zurich's main train station. This event brought international athletics right into the heart of the city in an impressive way and captivated not only sports enthusiasts but also passers-by. Weltklasse Zürich succeeded in creating a unique platform for athletics and excitement with this event integrated into the city, which was also broadcast live on television worldwide.
We at auviso ensured that all technical requirements were met precisely and reliably on the impressive event area, where a temporary pole vaulting facility was installed. A total of 25 tons of video, lighting and audio technology were set up on an area of around 5,000 m² to create an impressive production. Our technical infrastructure comprised around 100 spotlights, which bathed the entire area - from the jumping facility to the spectator stands and sponsor stands - in perfectly coordinated light. Two large LED walls enabled the spectators on site to follow the athletes' jumps up close and in every detail.
We also installed a comprehensive audio solution for the optimal sound reinforcement of the grandstands and side zones, which was designed both for the transmission of the presenters and for musical accents. as well as for musical accents and supported the exciting atmosphere in the room. The lighting provided a clear view of the sponsor areas, and the strategically placed banner hanging drew attention to the event logo, impressively showcasing Weltklasse Zürich as the host. The entire set-up and dismantling took place in night shifts so as not to disrupt regular passenger traffic at Zurich main station. Our technicians were on standby throughout the event to ensure the technical support and operation of the systems and to be able to react immediately to unexpected requirements.
Thanks to the successful collaboration with Weltklasse Zürich and the meticulous planning, we were able to transform a top-class sporting event into an atmospheric and smoothly running show. We would like to thank Weltklasse Zürich for their trust and the opportunity to have been part of this spectacular project.
