Innovative lighting design for the Lucerne trade fair
ReferencesModernization of lighting system at Lucerne trade fair
Lighting is a decisive factor for the atmosphere and functionality of an event venue. With the modernization of the lighting system in Halls 1 and 2 of the Lucerne Exhibition Centre, we have shown how well thought-out lighting design not only achieves impressive visual results, but also enables sustainability and cost savings.
The aim of the project was to replace the existing lighting, consisting of fluorescent tubes and HQI spotlights, with modern, energy-efficient LED technology. This not only resulted in a significant reduction in energy consumption, but also opened up completely new possibilities in terms of lighting design and control.
Advantages of the new lighting:
• Flexible color temperature: The new lighting allows variable control of the color temperature from a warm 3000 Kelvin to a cool 6500 Kelvin. This means that the atmosphere can be individually adapted to the respective event – whether for atmospheric presentations or functional trade fair set-ups.
• Stepless dimming: The brightness can be flexibly and continuously adjusted to always ensure the optimum light intensity for every usage situation. At full capacity, the illuminance reaches over 500 lux - ideal for intensive working and trade fair conditions.
• Homogeneous illumination: The use of LED technology ensures uniform, glare-free lighting that meets the highest standards of lighting quality.
The installation comprises 220 LED luminaires per hall, which can be individually controlled in 60 groups. They are conveniently controlled via a mobile tablet or, if required, via a DMX system for maximum flexibility. This state-of-the-art control system enables event organizers to adapt the lighting concepts to changing requirements in real time and with little effort.
A key advantage of the new lighting is the significant reduction in electricity costs. Thanks to the energy-efficient LED technology, energy consumption has been significantly reduced, which not only cuts operating costs but also protects the environment.
This close cooperation with Messe Luzern ensured a smooth project flow and an optimal result.
We would like to thank Messe Luzern for the successful collaboration and look forward to further exciting projects!
