The urban basketball tournament at Zurich Main Station
The very first edition of the FIRSTCAUTION 3x3 TROPHY took place on Friday 25 March in the main hall of the Zurich Main Station. Eight top-class teams took part in this new 3x3 basketball tournament, including three top-15 teams that took part in the World Tour Finals in Jeddah last December. Besides the official competition, this event was especially a real festival of urban culture and sports, with an incredible atmosphere and spectacular animations! auviso was the technical partner and was allowed to support the basketball tournament with audio visual solutions.
The walk-ons were able to watch eight basketball teams, two of which are in the TOP 10 of the World Tour. The organisers hope to be able to hold the 3x3 Trophy tournament with 12 teams next year. As a partner, auviso was responsible for the technical implementation this year. Over 6 tons of material were used, including metres of cable. The loudspeakers used also ensured first-class sound quality. For this day event, about 30 people were planned together with the organiser.
The exciting thing about this event and at the same time the challenge was that the location was the Zurich main station. This meant that there was no enclosed area and there were walk-ins all day, which meant that there was a lot of coming and going. Coordinating the delivery of materials was more complex than at other locations. You had to report each one to the station and schedule fixed entry, set-up and departure times. In addition, there are closing times in the morning and evening.
