BLS AG has reached a milestone in passenger information with the introduction of new digital general displays: the innovative system offers real-time data, barrier-free text-to-speech functions and optimized train processes for greater efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon Railway (BLS) is a leading Swiss transport company that continuously focuses on innovation. With the new generation of general displays, which have new features, BLS is improving passenger information and ensuring greater efficiency and accessibility at its stations.
BLS has reached another milestone in the digitalization of its rail operations: the new digital general displays have been successfully installed at various stations. This modern, user-friendly system offers passengers a dynamic and precise overview of train departures and enables barrier-free use for everyone.
The general indicators provide the following information in real time:
• Departure times, destinations and train numbers.
• Track information and information on delays.
• Control of stops on demand to enable more efficient train operations.
In addition, the displays are equipped with an innovative text-to-speech (TTS) function that plays back visual content acoustically at the touch of a button. This means that they are also easy to use for visually impaired passengers and meet the highest standards of barrier-free accessibility.
The new general displays not only improve user-friendliness for travelers, but also contribute to more efficient rail operations. With the ability to control stops on demand, they optimize the use of resources and reduce waiting times. The integration of real-time data ensures transparency and greater customer satisfaction.
